I loved "Running Blind" also. It illustrates why it is so important to have a strong central character in your story. Newspaper photojournalists sometimes like to dump on TV news photographers, but I have to tell you, shooters like Corky Scholl know how to visually tell a story. It also helps to have strong writing and voiceovers, which I believe we all need to do more of. Newspaper videographers can learn a lot from watching the best that TV news photographers have to offer. I watch every one of the winning entries for ideas.
I'm also a big fan of Mow Club. It was an example of great shooting, editing, and story-telling. All of the interview shots especially were thoughtfully executed. I look forward to checking out the rest of the winners.
Has anyone taken a look at some of the 2011 NPPA BOP's TV winners?
