Sue Morrow asked me to post this. The Kalish is a killer good workshop that has, in recent years, become very multimedia focused.
The Kalish is accepting applications for the June 20-24 workshop at Ball State University.
In its 22nd year, The Kalish teaches visual storytelling across all platforms: mobile, tablet, web and print. It reaches out to anyone handling pictures within a storytelling format. The workshop will benefit multimedia editors and producers, photographers and writers, picture editors, designers, assignment editors, and story editors.
Rooted in visual editing, the workshop is hands-on with editing exercises using video and stills, story boarding, discussions on editing techniques, audio, interviewing skills, and the of handling still images for online and print. We also address leadership, managing by example, and the ethical treatment of people and images. Our faculty consists of some of the best and creative forces in journalism.
I've wanted to do the Advance Storytelling Workshop in Texas or a Maine Workshop in the summer but this is so close to me I might have to look into this
We accept up to 32 applicants.
