This video is all about matched action/matched movement. See how each shot with movement transitions (eye tracks) into one with the same. This is  the Holy Grail of video editing and a technique we should all use in our work...

I keep wondering how much of what he does is real/candid how much created for the video. And then I wonder is it possible to capture that same kind of feeling/emotion and create a piece so well put together using only candid found moments....within the time restrictions of our job.

Will - I agree with you, I like the moments piece better as an overall piece, although I do think Colin is right, the cuts are much stronger in this piece.

One of the things I talked about with my class when we watched this piece, is turn off the sound and watch the piece. The music really adds a great deal to the moments piece, I think this piece stands better on its own visually.

I too wonder about how much is real and candid, but I wonder if that is our baggage as journalists and if anyone outside our "group" cares about that.

Time restriction Will are a whole other ball of wax.
