A really good site for how to trick out your DSLR and other good links and reviews for journalists:

If you haven't heard of Philip, check him out. Great site and he will answer serious questions when asked: http://philipbloom.net/

A great resource if you don't know a good musician/sound/composer:
http://www.freesound.org/

Sites you should know about:

http://digitaljournalist.org/

A great way to display your video and a good community:
http://vimeo.com/

Find, search for, meet, make friends with local artists and musicians. Chris Truitt is one such person in my community and has traded music for video for a number of projects. He works with students and other professionals, so he is able to provide me with helpful feedback. People like this are in your community, or are online, if you seek them out.
