Hi Jason,

I've heard of these hackathons done here in the States but didn't know what it was all about.

For a bunch of people sitting in front of computers you sure made this more interesting to watch. It was short, full of information and the fast paced editing, time lapses and choice of music kept me engaged the entire time.

Not sure how long you were there but if at night did many of the lights go off where you just saw people hard at work with the computer screens lighting them up etc?

Where there any windows that you could have been outside shooting into them for a different look or perspective?

Little nit picky stuff (maybe that's an American phrase?? :-)

Depending how long you were there, when that one guys says something like "I don't know check back with me at 1 am" it would have been nice (if you were there forever) to have shot him at 1 am with him looking at his watch & talking about the progress he's made, where he is at kind of thing.

I'd make sure you always hide your lav mic. I could see the black cord on a few people, just not clean looking.

One thing missing that I was dying to see & know about? Detail of a computer screen with a program, app, etc that someone was working on.

Anyway nice job on what could have been something boring.

Hi Eric,

Thank you so much for taking the time to review my video.

I had not considered going in later in the night.  It was taking place around the corner from where i lived so I could have gone back.  Apparently a couple of teams pulled all nighters and there were a couple of teams that brought sleeping bags.

"Nit picky" as a phrase is used here too (pretty sure my father still says it).  Point taken on the lav mike.  I actually found the rode mike gave just as good or even better sound.  I was cheating a bit by connecting the lav straight to the camera, not a long cord.

Shots from outside was something I had not thought about but yes that would have been good as well.

I take your point on the computer screen.  For some reason I did have some cutaways of screens but then did not use it.

Thanks again!  I was worried that FTF was diying off but great to see some new reviews!

Cool man. I'm making a bigger effort to be back on FtF.

I've been on here reviewing and posting my videos since Colin started this but I've been so busy in 2013 with a documentary and other things I'm shooting.

Going to make an effort to review one a week and start posting more on the forum with interesting things I run across.

Keep up the nice work!
