You did lots of things right in this audio slideshow Jill. The opening sequence got my attention right away. Timing the photos to the gunshots was an effective way to pull viewers into your story. Your excellent use of natural sound keeps viewers engaged and helps make your photographs come to life. 

I like how you weaved the ambient sound breaks with the interviews--it helps move the story along. I enjoyed the photography with its clean backgrounds and fine moments. You had a lot of tight detail shots, which really strengthens the visual variety of your photos.
  
This is a simple story told well. Nicely done!

Very nice opening that was! And the story is simple and clear told. The ambiant sound is very nice. 


What I would like to see, is  a portrait of the person who's talking when he's or she first starts.   

Also I like to see my whole screen covered by a picture, so maybe you could crop the portrait images to landscape?

As others have mentioned, the opening is fun, and gets the attention of the viewer. That said, I thought it was a bit overdone. Three shots would have been plenty. Using the device throughout the story reduced it from "clever" to overdone.

Your photography is crisp and does an excellent job of matching the dialog. I agree with Emiel, landscape crops would be my preference.

Nice work, I'm sure the club and the readers enjoyed the article.
