Federico:

My apologies that we apparently do not have anyone on "staff" who speaks Italian. I will try and confine my comments to the visual aspects of things although I could pick up a few words and phrases, including catamaran.

First off, kudos for finding a new and interesting story. I had not thought about wheelchair accessible boats and sailing.

In general, I really wanted to see more B-roll: sailing details, waves against the hull, how people in wheelchairs could be stable and steer, the sail going up the mast, and detail shots. B-roll really helps visual push the story forward.

I would advocate for consistently ID'ing people or not ID'ing them. You do not identify the main wheelchair person who seems to be the 'voice' of the piece but you do ID the skipper. Generally speaking, no pun intended, I will keep an interviewee up for 5-7 seconds, with an ID, and then I try not to come back to them unless they have something powerful, funny or important that there is a reason to visually show them again.

I would have also liked to see more interaction of the skipper with folks.

I thought the light was OK for the interviews, certainly not distracting, and the sound was clean.

Overall it is a solid piece for less than a day turnaround time.

Thanks Michael for your comment. I know italian is not a popular language but I didn't have the time for subtitling the video.

These shots were made in one afternoon. Unfortunately it was a poor time, I think this video could have more details (or B-roll) as well.
But is good to know that the light was ok!

Gee, thanks Eric. My apologies Federico, apparently we do have some who speaks Italiano. Please don't apologize, my parents and my brother have traveled, photographed and ate their way around parts of your country and had great visits.

The key with B-roll is just shoot more than you think you need, and then you will find you still need more ;)
