Hi Jimmy,

Sorry it took so long to get to this.  I clicked the picture but your site takes forever to load and then it just shows the home page and I could not find this story.  Would love to get a crack at watching it and reviewing it if you can repost it.  Thanks

Hi Jimmy,

This story screamed at me for video or at least audio.  The visuals and sounds of the cutting of the dreads, Perry's thoughts, his last day with the dreads. The whole before after thing.  That's the first thing I wanted to say.  Not sure what your experience is with that but certain stories need that and this would have been perfect.

Anyway I'll just speak on the stills.

I really love how you started this story but then from there Perry was just very aware of your presence. Many pictures had the portrait look or feel to it and I didn't get to know him well through the pictures on.

I wish there was photojournalism in this story and not just photography.  Don't get me wrong your style, lighting and composition are really nice but as a picture story you want to tell a story and only a few of these did that.

Looking at your other work your Rivals piece is what I'm talking about.  You had a good mix of the audio (a bit loud at times) and your photojournalistic seeing was far different than the dreads piece.

Eric
