This piece about a really big bass was visually arresting and well-shot. I'm glad it only ran a couple of minutes because there wasn't enough story to drive it any longer. We got to hear the thing, see it from all angles and hear the only guy who plays it make a few remarks.

It's really about the sight and sound of it. The Republic would have been hard pressed to do justice to this one in print. But the. Online story gave readers all they wanted.

The narration was well scripted and the perspectives added to a fairly static subject, good work. The one thing that I think I would pay attention to with the 5dmk2 is to color check, because it looks a bit orangish. I have just migrated to shooting with the 7D and have already had fits with the auto white balance in video mode. It's better shooting stills but can really go katywompus when not locked down while shooting video. The length of your story was great and it had nice audio and visual moments illustrating the extreme nature of the instrument and it's keeper.

Totally agree with the white balance issues. I'm so use to shooting still in raw with this camera that it slipped my mind. By the time I noticed the orangish tone it was too late and I had to go with it.

Thanks for your comments. Much appreciated.
